RETURN OF THE JAM
OCT. 26TH 6PM
Jive
Poetic, co-founder/producer also graced the stage
with his Poem " Native Sister". And closed his set
with the inspirational poem about his headstrong
grandmother and journey to settle her family on
American soil in "Homesick."
This was just the beginning to the feature acts,
Eboni that showcased both new, old and in the
works work including her newest and brilliant series,
Dirty Mouth. She closed her set with the assistance
of beatboxer and singer, Soulful Jones in the poem
"Dunbar" about the rape of the mother and Al Sharpton's
role in the witch hunt.
Jamaal St. John closed the entire evening with a
riveting performance, displaying wordplay and the
reason he holds the title of Slam Champion thoroughout
Toronto and the Northeast region. The New Jersey resident
performed a breathtaking piece about his fear of fatherhood
and closed his set with a lighthearted poem about Thick
Chicks. Overall, the night was a great success, as was the
entire festival. We look forward to returning in April for
the 2nd installment of this 2 part series
